Students will be permitted to enter the building at 8:00 a.m.
Classes will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m.
Classes will be dismissed promptly at 3:30 p.m.
Parents/Guardians must pick up their students no later than 3:35 p.m.
Kindergarten students are dismissed at 3:15 p.m.
All students are picked up from their teacher.
Due to safety and security concerns, students may not go to the cars without an adult.
No students are allowed to leave the building without an escort, unless they walk or ride the bus.
Parental permission is required for all students who walk.
A signed note must be on file in the office.
Parent Concerns
All parent concerns will be addressed in a timely matter. If there is an issue that you and the teacher cannot solve together, please see the administrator for your child's grade. If the administrator is not available, please fill out the parent complaint form in the main office and the principal will address the concern within two days.
Weather
The process used to determine school closings is up to the Board of Directors. An announcement will be put on the radio as soon as possible designating Hope Academy will be closed. Closing will be identified on channels 2(FOX), 4(NBC), 7(WXYZ), 50(UPN). You may also listen to WWJ-950 AM.

Attendance Policy
Students are encouraged to maintain a record of perfect attendance in order to gain the maximum learning. If your child is unable to attend school on a given day, we require the parent/guardian to notify the office at (313) 934-0054 by 8:00 a.m. and/or provide a parent note upon the student's return.
Excused absences are absences accompanied with a phone call and parental note upon student's request.
Unexcused absences are absences with no phone call from parent/guardian and no parent note provided upon the student's return.
Excessive absences are (10 or more each semester) absences may affect grades and passing.
Tardy Policy
Students who arrive after 10:00 a.m. must sign in with a parent on the attendance sheet located in the main office. The student will receive a pass to present to their teacher for classroom acceptance. Perfect attendance certificates will not be given to students with excessive lateness. Student with three unexcused late arrivals will not be considered for the certificate.
Locker Procedures
Each student has an assigned locker for storage of coats, books and personal belongings, etc. All lockers are property of the school; therefore, they are accessible to the school for search or examination when necessary. Students in grades 5 and 6 are required to have a combination lock on their locker. Students are required to give their homeroom teacher their combination. Padlocks with keys are not acceptable.
Textbook Fees
Parents/Guardians are required to sign a book release/agreement form. A book fee will be charged for all lost or stolen textbooks not returned at each card marking.
Hope Academy reserves the right to withhold the student's report card until the fees are paid.
